Mediumship & CommunicationI'd like to say something about Mediumship & Communication with the world of spirit. Many religons will not recognise any form of communication between this world and the next unless through their own specific channels. But the truth is that the 'spirit world' and ours are very much able to link together and we are able to receive both love and support, as well as guidance from their side to ours. Healing can take many forms, and sometimes simply having personal proof that this life is neither the start nor stop of existence and that people that you used to share your life with are still very much alive and well, can be truly healing in itself.
The difference between Psychics and Mediums Everybody in the world is Psychic. Maybe they may not have exercised and developed the ability to listen and hear as well as others but to be psychic is to listen to that intuitive 'knowing' about something and to have absolute trust in it. And the clever bit is, that the more you trust and act on it, the more clear it becomes to perceive it. A well practiced and/or trained psychic will be able to focus their awareness on an individual, object or place and 'know' things about their past present and to some extent even their future. Some are born with a highly developed intuition and others make a conscious choice to develop it in their later lives. Some find it easy, some find it difficult but we can ALL do it. - it's a bit like athletics, we can all run, but some will be olympic champions, some weekend joggers and other choose to watch TV. But we are all capable of getting up and doing it if we are prepared to put the effort into it.
But what about Mediums? Can you decide one day that you believe in life after death and that those who have crossed from one plane of existence to another can (and wish to) communicate with those of us who are still here in a 'physical' existence? And then decide that you want to become a Medium? There doesn't seem to be a fixed answer to that. Ask a dozen mediums and you'll get half a dozen answers! My own opinion is that yes, we can all do it but it takes a lot of work, commitment and belief (and believe me that can be the toughest part). Again, there are the naturals, the gifted, those who purpose in life is to bridge that divide and to teach others. But if you're not one of the naturals, that doesn't mean you're excluded. Read as much as you can on the subject. Be selective and discerning in what you choose to believe or not. Your pathway is not, nor ever can it be, the same as someone else's. The one key to all of this is the practice of Meditation. What all psychics and mediums train themselves to do, is to turn down the mental chatter in the mind, turn it down far enough so that they can pick up on and start to perceive what lies beyond the quiet. Do this daily, every day for 10 minutes, 20 or 40 or more. You'll start to feel the physical benefits immediately and after only a short while, other changes will occur in your life. My own preference is for silent meditation, sometimes I like to have some music in the background -it can serve as a distraction from the mental noise and you can get lost in the harmonies and drift away. For those of a more scientific bent (as I was in the early days) you can use music that contains binaural tones (link to Monroe's Gateway Experience -expensive to buy but can be easily found on the internet, try one then buy the set if you think it's a worthwhile investment) they subliminally slow down your brainwaves to induce a delta or even theta (trance) state. These can certainly accelerate or kick start the process but in the long run, it doesn't really get you there any quicker (you are if only you knew it, already there right now- it's just case of how long it take to teach yourself that it's 'ok' to be there!!). A true medium will always connect you with someone you know and recognise in Spirit. They will always give you proof through information that only you could know. They will (or should) act as a bridge for the person on one side of existence to communicate to the other. Once that bridge has been established, they will explain why that particular individual has made the effort to come across. They will nearly always have some form of message or comfort to bring that will be applicable to the recipients personal life or circumstances. You may not always be able to understand or connect all the information you are given at the time. But if you've accepted the majority of the other information you've been given, the pieces you can't take will almost certainly click into place on the coming weeks, days or months - even further proving the validity of the experience! They will very rarely describe your guides, as you will never have any proof that they aren't simply making it up. Sometimes, once the evidence of survival has been accepted, then the Spirit person might bring through others and if your guide chooses to make themselves known to you in this way, there is usually a good reason. In essence as I'm sure you'll have heard before; All mediums are psychic, but not all psychics are mediums. So if you feel you're looking for some guidance and you want to know what the future might hold for you, go to a psychic. The may use Tarot cards, crystal balls, scrying mirrors or many other tools, however these are simply their chosen tool. It's what they use to focus on and let the intuitive knowing come to the fore. If you feel that you want to have a communication and message from Spirit, for guidance rather than fortune, then go to a good medium. ...and don't search the internet!! Go to your local Spiritualist church and they will be more than happy to make a recommendation.
