There are many different forms of meditation to follow. All of which will lead you to the same place ultimately. None of which is any better or worse than the other. You may wish to practice Thought meditation, focusing all your attention on a single thought or concept. Walking meditation may be the one for you or perhaps a guided journey to a background of wonderful music. Personally, my preferance is for silence. For the peace found in absolute stillness. This does not mean that you must sit in perfect silence, but that you find the silence within as your thoughts start to slow down, becoming less and less intrusive. And as your thinking mind begins to step back and take a back seat. You start to become aware that you are witnessing life, that it is happening around you and through you but not 'to' you. You in fact are not your life at all, but a witness to it. Observing the experiences that your body is taking you through. Day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute, moment by moment. And when that moment comes, you realise that there is a sense or feeling of detachment. You become the silent observer. A sense of peace and acceptance is found that is like no other on earth. In accepting everything just as it is, you become aware of a sense of perfection. Everything truly IS perfect, just as it is. There is nothing else you need to do, or be, but simply 'be' in the moment. Self Development Resources
